The Start of April

The 8th grade finished up their unit surrounding Spanish celebration of La Quinceañera and the traditions surrounding this important rite of passage. Students read and did a WebQuest assignment of Marta de la Cruz and her Quince.

7th grade Spanish students worked on their newest unit which is a Reader's theatre unit in which they will perform their skits for the class. The following skits will be performed:
* Los tres cerditos (The Three Little Pigs)
* La capurecita roja (Little Red Riding Hood)
* Jack y el tallo de frijol (Jack and the Beanstalk)

6th grade Spanish students worked on various activities featuring the following structures:
* vive en... vive con...
* tiene hambre... tiene sed...
* quiere... no quiere...

The End of March

The 8th grade finished up their MovieTalk unit with a "¿Quién Soy?" activity. We began learning about the Spanish celebration of La Quinceañera and the traditions surrounding this important rite of passage.

7th grade Spanish students concluded their fist novela of the year, "El nuevo Houdini." This week's chapters included:
* Capítulo diez: "El nuevo Houdini" (The New Houdini)
Students did a synthesizing activity with category cards and an oral comprehensive examination. Next week we will begin our "Reader's Theatre" unit.

6th grade Spanish students began their new MovieTalk Unit this week featuring the series "Simon's Cat." The episodes we worked with this week were:
