Mid-January

Intermediate I Spanish students have begun their latest thematic unit with "La Quinceañera." Students are learning about the importance of a girl's 15th birthday party in Hispanic culture and the important roles that both male and female young people play in this celebration. The following assignments were due this week:
* La Quinceañera Reading assessement/listening quiz
* La Quinceañera Playposit (interactive video assignment)

Novice II Spanish students are still in the midst of a MovieTalk unit and completed the following MovieTalk discussions this week:
* Las piramides (The Pyramids) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6PbonHsqW0
* ¿Quién soy? (Who am I?) Students must guess who characters from the shorts have been based on structures and vocabulary we have focused on during this unit.
Students learn different structures in Spanish with each video. Students are asked guiding questions both written and orally. If you are unfamiliar with how MovieTalk helps kids learn Spanish faster, I have provided a link below for more information:

6th graders have been doing a mini-unit focusing of simple Spanish grammar. The following topics were practiced this week through short stories.

* El estudiante loco (es, ésta, va)
